Policy Roundtable Dialogues
As explosive growth in the global transportation industry has occurred over the past decade, so too have emerged pressing socioeconomic and environmental problems. Fortunately, however, there is a growing global consensus that scientifically-designed, pro-sustainability transport policies are urgently needed from institutions, academia, businesses, consumers and governments to overcome the serious issues associated with automobiles and set the auto industry on a path towards sustainability.
The Policy Roundtable Dialogues at GCVS2015 will provide a conversational platform for global transport experts and clean vehicle policy influencers, technologists and industry leaders to discuss and share ideas on the most pressing and forward-thinking policy issues. Revolving around three focal themes – energy efficiency in the transportation sector, automobiles and air pollution, and business strategies for auto manufacturers in the new era – the roundtable will convene a galaxy of top experts, leading manufacturers, respected scholars, and governmental authorities and regulatory bodies in the U.S and China, setting the stage for important decision-makers to find new perspectives towards transport policy innovation.
Award ceremony for the “China Green Car Ranking 2015”
“The China Green Car Ranking” is released annually by the Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation (iCET). Supported by the UN Environment Program (UNEP) and the Ministry of Environment Protection of China (MEP), “China Green Car Ranking” is an in-depth and authoritative evaluation of the environmental and human health impacts of mainstream vehicles sold in China. Utilizing the two innovative metrics—“Green Score” and “Smog Index Score”, the Ranking assesses over 7,000 models of 80 makes of vehicles sold in the Chinese market.
2015 is the first time that “China Green Car Ranking” will officially publish its assessment to general consumers. GCVS2015’s Organizing Committee will attempt to maximize the social value of the Ranking and bolster consumer awareness of environmentally-friendly vehicle models by holding a grand announcement & award ceremony at this year’s Summit.
Global Clean Vehicle Technology Showcase & Business Matchmaking
Led by new energy vehicles, the clean vehicle sector has become a hotspot for high-profile technological and investment innovation. Moreover, the dynamism in the area of clean vehicles has made a discernable difference in curbing environmental pollution and significantly improving the general public’s health and quality of life.
Yet, despite the global attention that clean vehicles receive, there is still enormous potential for more under-utilized, high-quality technologies to come to market. The Advisory Board, consisting of a hand-picked group of world-class clean vehicle experts, is searching for 40 of the top global advanced clean vehicle technologies to recommend to GCVS2015 attendees. Representatives from 20 selected enterprises will have the chance to introduce their technologies at the Technology Showcase& Business Matchmaking session and network with a group of invited audience members at GCVS2015, including key decision makers of global investment and business groups. Covering 8 categories of clean vehicle technologies, this session provides tremendous opportunity for all the participants to gain a deeper understanding on the latest trend in clean vehicle technologies and build a solid foundation for future business partnerships.
Clean Vehicles and Auto Parts Exhibition
The “Clean Vehicles and Auto Parts Exhibition” of GCVS2015 (CVAPE) aims to provide a window for global clean vehicle manufacturers and auto parts makers to promote their technologies and products in the burgeoning Chinese clean vehicle market. Dedicated to only the clean vehicle industry, the GCVS2015 CVAPE is expected to attract 10,000 + consumers as well as a selected (invite-only) group of high-ranking government officials, respected scholars, industry-leading OEM and suppliers, making GCVS2015 CVAPE one of the most high-level and professional clean vehicle technology exhibition and business events in China.
Lakeside Test Drive
Consumer participation plays a crucial role the development of clean vehicles and green transportation. A central mission of GCVS2015 is not only to enhance general consumer awareness of the importance of clean transportation, but also influence consumers’ future purchase decisions by igniting their interest in environmentally friendly vehicles. The interactive and engaging Lakeside Test Drive event aims to do just that by allowing invited consumers, media partners and guests the opportunity to drive the world’s most advanced clean vehicles developed by Tesla, BMW, BYD, and other leading manufacturers, and experience firsthand the future of vehicle transportation.
